The first COD Cell Tests with unlimited chloride tolerance.

COD (chemical oxygen demand) measurements are regularly performed to test water for pollutants. But as many analysts know, the task is particularly difficult when the water sample contains very high chloride levels, such as with industrial wastewater or seawater. Standard COD tubes cannot be used, as chloride interferes positively and results in erroneously higher COD values.

Now, Merck Millipore presents a groundbreaking solution to this problem: COD cell tests which can tolerate unlimited chloride content. The high chloride content of the samples is extracted by a special procedure. This pretreated samples will be add to the new developed COD tubes. After cooling the tubes will be measured in a Merck Millipore photometer.

The two new Spectroquant® COD Cell Tests allow you to easily perform measurements in the low range of 5.0 - 60.0 mg/l COD and in the higher range of 50 - 3000 mg/l COD. This makes them excellent for analyzing a wide variety of water samples. As with all of our products, the new COD tests offer outstanding reliability, quality and user safety.
