C-DiGit® Blot Scanner for Chemiluminescent Western Blots

"This is a great little scanner. We find this helps with faster throughput and is certainly cheaper and easier than film. The sensitivity is very good, so that we only occasionally need to go back to film for a particularly fussy antibody."

Application Area: Antibody Development
C-DiGit® Blot Scanner for Chemiluminescent Western Blots

"We are using the C-DiGit Blot Scanner routinely in our laboratories for the development and characterization of novel antibodies. Setting up the scanner is straightforward and it takes only little time to get started and to produce high-quality western blot images. The software interface is very easy to use. In particular, we like the possibility to choose different "exposure" times. This allows us to screen several antibodies on one single blot in a fraction of time compared to using several ECL films and traditional film development methods. The instant blot digitization on the scanner and the ability to perform quantification further eliminates the need for other equipment and software. For us, the C-DiGit is the perfect solution as it reduces our costs for reagents as well as waste disposal and saves significant space. We therefore highly recommend this scanner for western blot applications. "

Application Area: Immunology and Microbial diseases
C-DiGit® Blot Scanner for Chemiluminescent Western Blots

"C-DiGit™ Blot Scanner for Chemiluminescent Western Blots by Li-Cor is a wonderful product. It is very easy to use. Once you standardize the intensity using the provided target blot, you can either choose a standard sensitivity (6 mins acquisition time) or high sensitivity (12 mins). Once the machine is done scanning, you are again given a chance to choose the best exposures for your use. We were told by another lab that we have to buy ECL substrates from LI-COR for it to work, but that is not the case. We used Millipore substrate and it worked really well with it. I wish it also took pictures of the blot for the molecular weight standard marking but we have the option of using the glow stick for that. I was a bit disappointed that no one came to train us and email replies of reps once we bought it were abrupt. Disappointed that the software is expensive. The quote was not significantly reduced either. It is the best one and most economical one available at the present time."

C-DiGit® Blot Scanner for Chemiluminescent Western Blots

"This blot scanner has been paramount in my research. I find it not only extremely easy to use, but also it was an excellent purchase for the lab I work in. Since we began using this product, other labs have begun to consider using them as well."

C-DiGit® Blot Scanner for Chemiluminescent Western Blots

"I am focused on cancer study. I am interested in protein post-translational modification, such as ubiquitination and sumoylation. I am studying how post-translational modification regulates certain transcription factors and how to regulate their functions in tumorigenesis and cancer development."
