"We have three Biomek NxPs, one MC and two Span-8. They are good quality handlers with good precision. Excellent software, user friendly but at the same time very versatile through scripting interface. Light curtain is excellent for pausing the system at the exact right time. Disposable tips are good quality at a reasonable price. Drawbacks: MC cannot change between formats (96well, 384well), although Span-8 can switch between fixed tips and disposables (or a mix). Price is at the higher end. Span-8 disposable tips have to be discarded. Service is excellent in our area. Very difficult to integrate the safety system of the NxP with the safety system of our integrated robots as there is no hardware interface to the NxP safety."   |
