Instead they use a thermal medium such as methanol or ethanol and plug simply into a standard electrical outlet to provide controllable, low-temperature cooling. To ensure a consistent temperature profile is maintained at all locations and allow efficient heat transfer, the thermal fluid is kept circulating by a magnetic stirrer which can also be adjusted to suit the requirements of each application.
The BC4 cools to -40°C and the BC8 features a temperature range of +30°C to -80°C with control accuracy of ±0.5°C and storage of multiple multi-segment programs. "
