"We purchased the instrument for sub aliquot work of CSF, plasma, serum, urine and whole blood. We had an issue with our special chilled carrier for the deck. It was made wrong and had to be sent back. Then the second one was damaged in shipment. Third time was the charm. However by then getting a field application specialist to return to the lab to finish the set has proven problematic."

"The Hamilton STARlet robotic pipettor allows us to do a lot of different types of sample prep (LLE, SLE, PPT, SPE) in 96 well plate format, that we simply would not be able to do manually. In general it works quite well and we have minimal issues with our STARlet. One of the main challenges with the Hamilton STARlet (& from what I understand is also common to other brands of robotic pipettors) is the method programming. It's a bit challenging for a non-programmer!"

"The STARLet is a very user friendly automated liquid handling system. It consistently yields very reproducible data. However, programming the system for new assays is not easy, you have to learn the programming language. Their technical reps are great and have custom programmed all of our assays."
