Bio-Rad Bio-Plex Assays contain dyed microspheres conjugated with a monoclonal antibody specific for a target protein or peptide, such as a cytokine or phosphorylated kinase. To perform a multiplex assay, antibody-conjugated beads are allowed to react with sample (for example, human or mouse serum) and a secondary, or detection, antibody in a microplate well to form a capture immunoassay that is read by the Bio-Plex array reader. The bead-based Bio-Plex assays overcome the limitations of traditional ELISA and western blot based analyses.
Bio-Rad BioPlex Assay Features
• Quantitation of cytokines over a broad dynamic range (up to 0–32,000 pg/ml), eliminating the need for repetition or dilution of high-concentration samples
• Premixed beads and premixed detection antibody that simplify assay preparation, minimize the possibility of error, and save time
• Premixed cytokine standards to generate standard curves for each cytokine target, maximizing sample space on plates
Individual 96-well BioPlex assays can be combined to create personalized multiplex arrays. In addition, premixed multiplex assays are available for ease of use.
