"Basing on broad experience in flow cytometry and different cytometers, I consider FACSCalibur as a necessary device in each laboratory conducting scientific and/or clinical analysis. Simplicity of use following short training makes it easy to use even by beginners. Despite the fact that customer service is always very helpful and available, FACSCalibur does not require too much effort when it comes to maintenance and keeping the device fully functional for a long time. Considering costs of the cytometer and necessary fluids, it is the best choice compared to other, even more advanced, cytometers supplied with more lasers and detectors because FACSCalibur equipment satisfies most of needs in routine scientific and clinical work."

"Despite continuous technological progress and emergence of new improved flow cytometers, FACSCalibur, owing to its reliability and efficiency, after all these years that has passed since it was first released, is still one of the most often used flow cytometers in research. In my opinion FACSCalibur is the best option to start the adventure with flow cytometry to really understand the principles of the technique and then appreciate its advantages in everyday research routine. Even though, I work also with newer equipment including FACSCanto II and FACSAria III, FACSCalibur is still the most often used flow cytometer in our lab thanks to its all features mentioned above and relatively low price of the device in general. "

"This platform was mainly designed to determine all parameters on the surface of WBC, known as CD which are all receptors on the upper membrane of the WBC. The system is user-friendly and the user can separately look at the different parameters on the same level through the software. Calibrating and maintenance of the device is well explained on the main screen and it has more specificity and sensitivity than the FC500 designed by Beckman Coulter."
