"I really like this unit. If you take the time to make sure the feed water is of high quality, the filter cartridges last for a very long time. I've had the same unit in my lab for seven years with zero issues. I know that Thermo says that it cannot polish tap water... well, I just moved into a new lab where the users have had their Nanopure hooked to tap water. And it does a decent job at cleaning it! Gets the water down to 18.2 and everything. The point of use filters seem to turn yellow quickly, but it works!"

"I have been using this instrument in my laboratory for more than 15 years; this ultrapure water system is very good, strong with quick response and is easy to use. I use this instrument almost every day. To get high quality pure water (17.8 Mhos-cm or more) is very easy, simple and quick to run. To change cartridges and filters is not difficult- I can do it by myself. Spare parts of this instrument are easy to get in my country, local agents still support it. I use this instrument to get high ultra pure water which laboratory uses for analytical instrument like as ICPMS, HPLC, Ion Chromatography, AAS, UV-Vis , voltametry, DNA Analysis and many other activities in my forensic job."

"Generally speaking the machine works well, however the consumables are very expensive. The UV sleeve breaks on a reliable basis (3 times in the last year) resulting in leaks and poor performance. This machine is not very usable for small volume production."

"We supply the unit with at least 17 Mega Ohm DIW and we have not had to replace the cartridges with over 2800 L of 18.2 Mega Ohm DIW dispensed."

"Great product; Rugged system that lasts with little upkeep requirements. The flow in ours is a bit low if you need large volumes of water at a time, but not a reason to not consider the purifier."

The Barnstead Nanopure Type I ultrapure water system combines high quality water, precise volume dispensing controls and system monitoring in a flexible, compact design.

The perfect system fo rmost general laboratory applications. The Reagent Grade water (Type 1)system meets the strictest requirementsfor TOC and resistivity.

At the heart of all Thermo Scientific Barnstead Nanopure systemsisthe cartridge pack – which is easily installed with one connection. The pack uses two types of activated carbon to absorb organic compounds and chlorine, and the highest purity semiconductor-grade ion-exchange resins for removing the last trace of ionic contaminants. Systems fed with deionized water (DI) have their own pack – designed to remove problematic organic and colloidal compounds associated with central DI feed.

Value-added features include: Volumetric or timed dispensing, NIST Traceable calibration, TOC monitoring and simple maintenance with automatic sanitization.

Four application-specific models – Analytical, UV, UF and Life Science – can be customized with a unique one-connection cartridge pack that best suits your feed water and research needs.


Barnstead Nanopure Features:

  • Maximum flowrate (at 10psi pressurized feed): 0.53 gal./min. (2L/min.)
  • Inlet water temperature: 4° to 40°C (40° to 104°F)
  • Built-in UV oxidation chamber in some models oxidizes and measures the levels of organics in the water
  • 0.2μm absolute final filter maintains bacterial- and particle-free water
  • Systems can be customized with a cartridge pack (available separately) to meet specific feed water needs
