Very pleased with the instrument.
Application Area: Analysis of volatile organic compounds in wastewater
"We are using this instrument to do EPA Method 624/8260 volatiles in wastewater and sludge. It works great, and saves us a lot of time. I had to learn to use the instrument without training (the chemist that was trained left suddenly) and found the software intuitive and easy to use. Customer service has been great. Consistent results. Only 2 problems have been encountered so far. First, the plastic high pressure tubing on the inside of the instrument started leaking. Should have been copper with a bulkhead fitting on the back of the instrument, which is what we have now. Secondly, I couldn't get the instrument to make calibration standards for 624 analysis that would have acceptable response factors, but I tried this only once. It might get better as I gain experience with this device."

"This unit is easy to use and has been very reliable. It only requires basic maintenance every 6 months. Exchanging the analytical trap is quick and easy. The software is user friendly and straightforward. I've used this equipment for several years and have rarely had any issues with it. It has only required one service repair call and that was completed quickly and efficiently."
Teledyne Tekmar's Atomx Automated Sample Prep System combines an Autosampler and Purge and Trap into a single instrument for the analysis of VOCs in soils and waters. This is the first of its kind and only system that employs a unique methanol extraction automation feature for high level soils in accordance with USEPA Method 5035.
Extractasol clean-up step (patent pending) in the Atomx reduces carryover or cross contamination normally associated with high-level water or soil analysis. Three new independent injection systems for internal standards, surrogates, and matrix spikes provide the ability to select variable volumes without generating waste.
The Atomx features Tekmar’s proven carousel drive capable of holding 80-vials for optimal throughput therefore reducing downtime. While priced competitively, this system offers unique features that cannot be found on other sample prep systems on the market today.
