Cytotoxicity Assay A novel approach to assessing cytotoxicity has been achieved by combining two DNA-binding dyes. A DAPI-detectable dye labels the nucleus of all cells and a TxRED/Cy3-detectable dye labels the nucleus of dead cells only. These two dyes are used concomitantly. This approach determines the percentage of live:dead cells.
