Good results
Application Area: Analyze metals
"The product makes analyzes cheaper due to the plasma source, but there are many interferences in this method."

Satisfied with product
Application Area:To analyse metal concentrations in aqueous solutions
"Since we also bought the autosampler from DKSH, the use of our MP AES is very easy and simple. Regular cleaning of parts are necessary, but pretty user friendly. Also standards for carlibrations are bought from DKSH and they work well as well."

Accurate results. Easy for beginners. Some upkeep needed.
Application Area:Analytical chemistry
"Quick and easy to operate system. Simple enough to use for an analytical chem course to teach students Beer's law and for comparison to other quantification methods. Some occasional maintenance is required to keep in running smoothly."

Great results. Its good to have one in the lab.
Application Area:Metal analysis in soil
"This equipment is easy to use and very straightforward. Just place in the samples and press run and the readings will pop up in a blink of an eye."

Application Area:Atomic emission spectrometer
"Excellent price for capabilities. Wide range of elements but scans just one element at a time. Easy to use but could be simplified a bit. Students can run by themselves. Well designed and inexpensive to run. Use nitrogen gas."

Good equipment but needs seasonal maintenance.
Application Area:Heavy metal, essential mineral analysis in food and feed
"4200 MP-AES machine produces defensible results in a short period of time and it is so easy to manipulate it. You can adapt to using the machine with minor training. The only problem we are facing is a lack of periodic maintenance from agents in local areas. Otherwise the machine is the latest technology especially in food and feed safety control."

Ideal if you need something between AAS and ICP.
Application Area:Miscellaneous testing for metals
"The Agilent MP-AES is pitched between AAS and ICP-OES in terms of sensitivity and price. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was more sensitive than I expected and it was actually comparable with other manufacturers' ICPs I'd used in the past. In terms of operation and maintenance it is very similar to ICP and I found this very easy to adapt to. The results are of a high quality in terms of precision, reproducibility etc. I've not had much need for after sales care so far so can't really comment on this. The main selling point for me was the ease of installation and low running costs. Ideally the MP-AES should be run with a nitrogen generator and air compressor, I think Agilent underplay this and leave it to the customer to sort out. Unfortunately Agilent don't provide a complete system with all this included so this needs to be added to your budget, this is my only real negative comment about the system. I'm still operating on nitrogen cylinders so operating costs will remain relatively high until I get a nitrogen generator."

For an emission spectrometer it's a decent instrument and easy to use and maintain.
Application Area:Metals analysis
"It's a great emission spectrometer in that it primarily uses nitrogen and not argon for it's plasma. It has a good DL for our purposes and saves a lot since it has it's own nitrogen generator. I'd recommend it over flame AA or even a regular ICP-OES instrument simply for it's cost savings."
The Agilent 4210 MP-AES is a high sensitivity atomic emission spectrometer that is the perfect alternative to the traditional flame Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) technique.
The MP-AES Instrument utilizes a microwave plasma and as it runs on air instead of combustible gases, it can be installed in either a centralized laboratory or a remote location. With detection limits down to ppb levels and no sample pretreatment necessary, the 4210 MP-AES delivers MP-AES analysis at a fraction of the cost of traditional techniques.
