Good hematology system in its day, but much better options are available now.
Application Area: Clinical lab
"Good hematology system for low volume lab. Maintenance is somewhat time consuming. In our area, service response was 1-2 days. Must prime system for accurate results if instrument is idle for more that 30 minutes."

Interesting instrument!
Application Area:Diagnostic Laboratoty
"Very nice method and analyzer for counting blood cells. Very good differentiation, reproducibility and precision. Minus: software - not user friendly, you should get accustomed and sometimes waste time to do/find necessary issues. Good RSC support."

"I strongly recommended this auto analyzer for other scientists. It is very good and produces accurate result for all parameters and morphology. Csf total count is also available. This machine is used for research and leukaemia patents. One parameter LUC (Large unstained cells) makes the manual differential stain and sees all abnormal cells. I like this machine very much. "

"This product is not as user friendly as advertised and requires a great deal of user interaction with regards to service and maintenance. It also has poor downtime levels. "

"This equipment is easy to use. However the Advia 2120 does require lots of maintenance. But it is good value for money. "

"Brilliant for large throughput of large sample volumes. More time consuming for micro volumes. Advantage = 5 part diff so no need for blood film manual diff. Large amount of sample parameter data provided for each sample and from such small volumes. Requires specialist operation to get the most from the instrument. Maintenance contract available with call out so can be run 24/7 if necessary. Reagents expensive."

"An excellent fast throughput, highly accurate analyser suited for both clinical and veterinary applications. I have found it very good in a non diagnostic setting where lots of the additional parameters are particularly useful."

"Not impressed with this analyzer. Currently work with this analyzer as well as Sysmex XT1000. Advia is pale in comparison. Continuously down, continuously cleaning, poor differential analysis. Too much downtime for an instrument in 2013. Also, too many reagents."

"The Advia 2120 is great for a large lab with a large hematology volume. Our automatic slide maker originally would jam and break slides, however with the help of service it started to work very well. I really like that it had an easy way to sample from pediatric blood tubes whereas with a different Coulter instrument, it was very difficult to sample from pediatric heel stick tubes."

"The 2120 with multi-species software is an exceptional clinical/research instrument. The breadth of "non-standard" measurements available lends itself to the research field. Technical support is really quite good."
