BEH Amide columns are far superior in stability and robustness then other HILIC columns in waters portfolio. Generally HILIC columns tend to leech polymer into ion source of Mass spectrometers leading to serious contamination. Also HILIC columns are very sensitive to changes in mobile phase buffers. Both of these problems are addressed quiet well by introduction of this new column. Although still lot more to be done to make such column comparable to a good RP-18 column, still they are probably better choice for studying acid and phosphates such as metabolites of Carbon Central Metabolism.
