"Software could be better, but like most software it is OK once you get used to it. We have had this instrument for 3 years and it has worked well consistently with no maintenance problems. It just keeps running, and I have confidence whenever I use it that it will perform well with no unexpected issues. Sciex service rep that performs yearly maintenance and calibration is knowledgeable and efficient, sales and application staff have been very helpful. "

"This instrument is easy to use, very stable with high resolution, low noise, and good MS accuracy and sensitivity. The source of MS instrument is very easy to maintain cleaning and very easy to clean up, too, by simply rising temperature to as high as 700°C. Sciex provides excellent service quality with very convenient and prompt tech support to help our customer to address the issues and solve the problems. The post-sale service is very satisfying. The instrument and service price is affordable and very reasonable. "

"QTRAP® 5500 LC-/MS/MS System was used to quantitate a targeted group of primary and secondary metabolites. MRM parameters were based on the results derived after manual infusion of each compound which once learnt was very easy. All the compound belonging to a group could be put together in a method and a single run on LC coupled to QTRAP 5500 can identify the compounds from the sample even if they have same retention time. The calibration curve can easily be made using multiquant software which requires standard at different concentration and thus getting results is extremely easy. Once the MRM has been made, all standards can be run in mixture thus saving time. The results are accurate as they are based on MRM. Thus the only time consuming step is making a MRM library for the standards. The cleaning is very easy and takes a little time as only the curtain gas plate requires cleaning only if machine is used regularly and the matrix is dirty. "This Product is very reliable and useful in the analysis of pesticides. It is also a very good product for Metabolite ID for Complicated metabolism studies especially soil. If you are doing residue or E-Fate Chemistry studies I highly recommend this instrument, although if you need more sensitivity the 6500 is a better option. "
