"The HILIC kinetex column has been great for separating out those residues that just wont separate by RP HPLC. The biggest challenge has been getting analytes into a solution suitable for HILIC initial conditions. Currently difficult to judge the robustness as it does not see a ton of action. However, the samples it has seen are "problem" plant and animal extracts and it has held up well so far!"

"I have used a number of core shell type columns and am very impressed with the short analysis times achievable on standard LC systems (after some replumbing). In addition, the increased endcapping of the Kinetex XB C18 over the Kinetex C18 allowed me to reduce the formic acid content of my mobile phase when analyzing basic compounds by LC-MS-MS that were previously prone to peak tailing due to secondary interactions with acidic silanols. Sensitivity also improved, due both to narrower peak widths and reduced signal suppression caused by the lower formic acid modifier concentration."

"Breakthrough technology for separations. I had these columns offered to me on a number of occasions to improve my UPLC/MS chromatography, when I finally did it made such a difference to the work we were doing. The sharpness of peaks were unparalleled and we could see low level peaks that were not there with conventional 1.8um columns. Because of the core shell particle the backpressure is much lower also resulting in higher flow rates and even faster more accurate separations. The Kinetex range of columns has now become our go to column for method development and we are branching out to replace old silica columns with the core shell equivalents for our normal HPLC separations."
