"The Applied Biosystems 7500 PCR cycler is very easy to use and it takes approximately 2 hours 19 minutes to complete a run. "The machine itself is easy to use and produces good results. However, we have encountered problems with the machine losing connection with the computer since we purchased this equipment 2 years ago. This results in whole data sets being lost, all the calibrations needed resetting and a lot of down time waiting for engineers to come in. Applied Biosystems upgraded the computer they supplied with the machine less than a year after we had it in a hope to negate these connectivity issues. This worked for about 6 months, but now they've started up again. So I'm generally not particularly impressed with the system as a whole in terms of reliability."
