Innovative Concept: Satellite Symposia at the AchemAsia 2013 Congress
11 Apr 2013

New technological trends in the exhibition coupled with leading edge topics in the lecture halls: the Congress programme of the 9th AchemAsia targets the needs of suppliers and users in China more accurately than ever before. Satellite symposia, organized by local professional associations, address on-the-spot challenges, with the focus on resource management, environmental protection and water treatment together with joining technology, process analysis and separation technology.

With the new congress concept for AchemAsia 2013 the organisers have opted for more intensive cooperation with local partners - and this strategy has paid off. As Professor Yang Yuanyi, Vice-President and General Secretary of CIESC, emphasised at a recent press conference in Beijing: "The international orientation of AchemAsia combined with a high level of local involvement is what makes this event so attractive to exhibitors and visitors not only from China, but from all over the world." CIESC (Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China) and DECHEMA are the chief organisers of the 9th AchemAsia which will take place in Beijing from 13 to 16 May 2013

With current exhibitor figures topping 400, this AchemAsia has the edge over the previous event in 2010. Suppliers from 24 different countries will present their technical innovations from plant and process engineering. The close proximity of the exhibition and congress facilities is mirrored in the themes. This concentration will create a showcase for process engineering, offering scientists, developers and users a comprehensive view of the state-of-the art in China and of the major technological trends.

Research made in Germany continues to be in demand in China. With this in mind, DECHEMA and BMBF (the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) have organised a symposium especially for AchemAsia 2013: "Chemical Processes and CO2 Utilisation", which has attracted a great deal of attention right from the start. "Sino-German exchange has attained a new dimension over the past few years", commented Dr. Thomas Scheuring, CEO of DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH: "To their mutual advantage, I should add."

Another "first" in the run-up to the event is the AchemAsia app. Designed to steer participants competently through the fair and congress halls, it will be available from April 17th.
