MALDI-TOF

MALDI-TOF is a high-throughput technique used in mass spectrometry for the identification of molecules. MALDI is useful as it reduces fragmentation of large biomolecule samples whilst allowing fast data acquisition. MALDI requires lasers, pumps, detectors, software and a mass spectrometer, usually time-of-flight (TOF). Some systems use tandem time-of-flight (MALDI TOF-TOF).
