Gene expression uses techniques including gene transfer, molecular cloning and transformation. PCR and gel electrophoresis are used to amplify and separate DNA respectively. Cells are then transformed using vectors. DNA can be labeled for subsequent analysis. Gene expression kits are commonly available complete with enzymes (polymerases and restriction endonucleases), size markers, DNA probes and primers.
