About us

Tosoh Bioscience is an acknowledged global leader in the field of bioseparations, established as TosoHaas in 1987. The original joint venture between Tosoh Corp. Japan and Rohm and Haas Company, USA has become synonymous with advanced products and quality support. In the year 2000, Tosoh Corp. acquired a 100% controlling interest changing the name to Tosoh Biosep.

At the beginning of 2003 all Separation and Diagnostic related overseas companies were renamed to Tosoh Bioscience to better support the Tosoh Scientific Instrument Division. Tosoh manufacturing sites in Japan provide products to the sales and support subsidiaries in the USA and Europe, ensuring full global coverage.

Tosoh Bioscience serves the pharmaceutical industries, active in research and production of biotechnologically produced pharmaceuticals, research institutes, university laboratories and routine laboratories for biochemical and environmental analysis.

Our Products

Tosoh Bioscience offers a comprehensive line of media and prepacked columns for all common modes of liquid chromatography, including ion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, reversed phase, size exclusion and affinity. The company also offers custom designed resins to meet a variety of separation needs.

TSK-GEL is available as bulk polymeric resin or in silica or polymeric based prepacked columns. Columns come in microbore analytical through preparative sizes, with particle sizes of column packings ranging from 2 - 20 µm. TSK-GEL bulk resins are available in 10, 13, 20 and 30 µm particle sizes. Over the last 30 years, TSK-GEL SW columns have become the worldwide industry standard for size exclusion chromatography of biomolecules.

TOYOPEARL chromatography resins are based on a semirigid, hydrophilic, macroporous backbone and are stable over the pH 2-13 range. Particle sizes are 20 -50 µm superfine grade for the highest performance, 40 - 90 µm for economical purification, and 50 -150 µm for the largest scale chromatography.

Scale-up

The similar Chemistries of TOYOPEARL and TSK-GEL columns allow seamless scale up. TSK-GEL and TOYOPEARL superfine grade (35 µm) polymeric resins are available in prepacked columns for scouting and method development.
