Blotting - Western / N / S

Blotting is a method of separating and visualizing proteins (western blotting) or nucleic acids (northern and southern blotting). Blotting membranes include nitrocellulose, PDVF, or nylon and transfer methods include filtration or electroblotting. In blotting it is important to consider choice of probe, labeling method (e.g. fluorescence, biotin or enzyme conjugates), detection system and software.
