Application Note: Application of the mosquito® Liquid Handler for Crystallization Under Oil
14 August 2014

The ‘under oil’ (microbatch) method of protein crystallization consists of a drop of protein sample combined with the crystallization reagent (screen) of choice pipetted under a layer of oil. Advances in automation have facilitated the widespread adoption of high-throughput microbatch methods that include vapor diffusion and convection-free crystallization. This application note discusses how the TTP Labtech mosquito liquid handler can be easily employed for automated microbatch screen set-up, ensuring greater throughput and accuracy.
