Quantitation of Pegylated Protein and Free PEG
31 July 2009

The covalent attachment of PEG (polyethyleneglycol) to a biotherapeutic agent can aid in protection from the host's immune system, reduce renal clearance and enhance water solubility of hydrophobic molecules, and is important in biopharmaceutical and QC. This application note outlines the use of size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) with Charged Aerosol Detection to resolve pegylated monoclonal antibody (PEG-MAb) and free PEG.
