Measuring Flow Curves for Low Viscosity Inkjet Inks Up To Ultra-High Shear Rates for Print Head Compatibility
7 Mar 2014

To ensure printhead compatibility, measuring the viscosity of the ink at a relatively low shear rate only is insufficient, and a flow curve (viscosity versus shear rate) up to ultra high shear rates should be measured. This application note describes the use of a microfluidic viscometry technique using the m-VROCi instrument to access the appropriate flow regimes for low viscosity inkjet formulations under in-use conditions in a print head.
