Real Time, High Resolution Studies of Lipid Bilayer Formation

Dual Polarisation Interferometry (DPI) is an important enabling tool for the study of biological membrane systems and their associated proteins. This application note describes the use of DPI for the real time, quantitative analysis of phospholipid vesicle sorption, coalescence and subsequent rupture to form a bilayer at the solid–liquid interface.
