Ultra-Sensitive Coal Tar Distillate Analysis by GC-PID
11 Jan 2013

The distillation of Naphthenes and Coal Tars result in a complex array of polynuclear aromatics, of which many do not show up when analysed by GC-TCD or FID. In order to identify trace levels a gas chromatograph equipped with a photo-ionization detector (PID) is required. This application note demonstrates that the Buck 910GC PID has the power to detect in the part-per-billion range for QC product tests as well as online process analyses.
