Detection and Characterization of Single-Sheet Graphene and Graphine Oxide Films
21 Nov 2013

Single-sheet graphene (SG) is the first truly two dimensional material and has been shown to have many outstanding material properties, such as high electrical and thermal conduction and high tensile strength. This application note illustrates how the SPR Navi 200 and KSV-Nima PMI 550 can be used to characterize grapheme films before and after deposition with KSV-Nima Langmuir-Blodgett troughs. The SPR Navi 200 was capable of characterizing the thicknesses and the complex refractive indices of the deposited layers. It was possible to distinguish single sheet and aggregated graphene from one another.
