Application Note: ZEISS EVO: Forensic Paint Analysis

As most surfaces are painted, paint is a significant source of trace evidence and can reveal vital information to forensic scientists. Forensic paint analysis is used in many cases. Paint residues are generally found on suspects, tools or other devices used to carry out criminal activities. This application note presents SEM and EDS as primary tools for paint analysis and describes the ideal instrument configuration.
