Use of the FLUOstar OPTIMA Microplate Reader to monitor amyloid formation
28 Jan 2008

Amyloid fibrils are implicated in a number of diseases, known as amyloidosis, including type II diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. One group of fluorescent dyes which have been shown to bind to amyloid fibrils are the anilinonaphthalene sulphonic acid’s (ANS).

This report demonstrates the ability of the BMG LABTECH FLUOstar OPTIMA microplate reader to monitor amyloid formation by performing fluorescence kinetics studies with the help of a custom-made script.
