Over the past few years, Raman spectroscopy has become recognized as an efficient and powerful analytical tool in the field of forensic science. Raman spectroscopy is advantageous as it is non-contact, non-destructive and does not require any sample preparation. This application note reviews the main advantages of the technique for drug investigation and illustrates them with a specific study of cocaine and its derivatives.
