This application note evaluates the levels of several heavy metals in lipstick, nail polish and skin cream. Based on candy guidance in the U.S. and the limits set in Canada, either graphite furnace atomic absorption (GFAA), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) would be appropriate.
