Application Note: Rapid Elemental And Isotope Analysis Of Coal Material By EA/EA-IRMS
7 October 2015

Coal is the largest source of energy worldwide but it is also considered as a source of pollution since various toxic chemicals are released in the environmental as by-products during coal processing. Environmental pollutants such as sulfur dioxide, sulfuric acid and hydrogen sulfide are related to the presence of sulfur in coal. As the demand for improved sample throughput, reduction of operational costs and minimization of human errors is steadily increasing, it is very important to have a simple and automatic technique which allows fast analysis with an excellent reproducibility.  This application note demonstrates CHNS/O determination by Organic Elemental Analysis (OEA) and EA-IRMS.
