Quantification of Exenatide Using Xevo TQD
10 Dec 2012

Exenatide is a large therapeutic peptide that is a synthetic version of Exendin-4, a hormone found in saliva of the Gila monster. The ability to accurately quantify therapeutic peptides in biological fluids requires a selective isolation process, a high-resolution chromatography system and a high-sensitivity detector. This application note demonstrates the capabilities of the Waters Xevo TQD Mass Spectrometer, ACQUITY UPLC H-Class System, sample preparation methods, and column chemistries to achieve a sensitive LC/MS/MS method for the detection and quantification of exenatide in plasma.
