Optimizing Donor Number for Consistent Pooled Human Liver Microsomes
8 April 2010

Human liver microsomes (HLMs) are commonly used as an in vitro reagent for the study of human CYP in the metabolism of a drug candidate. This application note presents an analysis of the CYP activity distributions for over 300 characterized (HLM) samples and predicts the variability in pooled CYP activity as a function of donor number. An optimal donor number based on observed variability can be selected.
