Maximizing Frame Rate Performance in EMCCDs

The iXon3, featured in this note, is shown to be capable of excellent frame rate performance, achieved from ‘overclocking’ the vertical shifts during readout. Furthermore, fast continuous sub region frame rates can be attained using the new ‘cropped sensor’ mode.
