Identifying and Collecting Weak UV Absorbance and Low Level Peaks of Interest From a Complex Mixture Using Conditional Logic Purification on Mass and UV Signals
5 Sep 2011

This application note shows that combining UV and LC/MS for purification reduces the number of fractions collected compared to UV alone. This then reduces processing times and is an efficient means of obtaining the pure compound of interest. The note uses the Purification of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), known for yielding high numbers of fractions, as an example of how effective this method can be.
