Determining Cell Concentration by Direct Volume on the BD Accuri C6

This white paper explores several cell counting applications that can be performed using the BD Accuri™ C6 flow cytometer including viable cell enumeration in cultured cell lines, immune cell concentrations in human peripheral blood and platelet counts in whole, unlysed human blood. The study suggests that cell concentrations reported with the BD Accuri C6 are highly correlated with concentrations measured using traditional bead counts and are more precise than those obtained using a hemocytometer. The direct volume method demonstrated here offers the added benefit of increased speed and reduced cost and complexity.
