Fluorescence and UV-­Vis absorbance are complementary measurement techniques for the quantification of biomolecules. Traditionally seen as separate, and sometimes competing methodologies, this article discusses the advantages of each, as well as new systems that integrate multiple modes into single, compact bench­top instruments.
