Confocal Raman Imaging – Depth profiling of polymer films and coatings
15 January 2008

The importance of coatings and films necessitates an efficient technique for investigating the structure of these materials.

Confocal Raman Microscopy is a powerful tool for non-destructively imaging the chemical composition of the components of the film or coating.  This Application Note describes the use of the WITec alpha300 R to measure confocal and Raman images generally and for the polymer coating of an orange juice container.
