Automated, High Throughput, HTRF®-Based Detection of Histone Methyltransferase and Demethylase Enzyme Activity
28 Jan 2013

The ability to accurately and rapidly detect the activity of important methyltransferase and demethylase enzymes is highly desired for epigenetics research. In this scientific poster from BioTek a simple, high-throughput automated procedure, using two separate biochemical HTRF assays, to accomplish this goal is described. The HTRF SET7/9 Methyltransferase and JMJD2A Demethylase assays afford sensitive, precise biochemical formats for the assessment of enzyme activity and inhibition. The combination of assay chemistry, as well as liquid handling and detection instrumentation, create a rapid, easy-to-use, robust solution for analysis of modulation of these important epigenetic targets.
