Analysis of Phytoestrogens in Soy Milk
28 Nov 2012

In this application note an analytical method for the identification of eight plant phytoestrogens (biochanin A, coumestrol, daidzein, equol, formononetin, glycitein, genistein and prunetin) in soy milk is presented. The method uses gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (GC/MS/MS) with an Agilent 7000 Series Triple Quadrupole GC/MS to analyze the compounds. Results show this is a robust, sensitive and reliable method for the identification of phytoestrogens.
