Measuring DNA Bending and Protein-DNA Interactions Using FRET

This application note demonstrates the feasibility of studying DNA bending as a consequence of the interaction of SOX transcription factor (TF) proteins with cognate DNA sequences in a time-resolved fashion, using the Thermo Scientific™ Varioskan™ LUX multimode reader. Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) Microscopy relies on the distance between two molecules, often to within several nanometers, allowing the energetic interactions between them to be observed.
