Watch Prof. Jose Garcia Abreu, of the Institute for Biomedical Science, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, discuss research focused on how embryonic cells organise themselves to form a correct embryo. His team are the only lab in brazil to use Xenopus frog embryos, in order to investigate signaling mechanisms involved in morphogenesis and differentiation to form the brain, using a range of genomics and microscopy techniques (stereo and confocal).
