Poorly selected pipettor tips can cause major error to pipetting accuracy 
09 May 2008: In liquid handling, the pipettor and the tip form a system. The best pipetting results are naturally achieved by those manufacturers who, in order to ensure complete compatibility between pipettors and pipette tips, develop them at the same time. As the tip is an integral component of the pipetting system, its shape, material properties and fit have an influence on accuracy. Other concerns include the nominal volume of the tip and the tip geometry.
